STRIVE

Life Skills Training

STRIVE is a unique community supports program dedicated to expanding independent living skills and community connections for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The goal of the program is to work with participants of a customized period to expand their abilities to live a more independent life.  STRIVE will be developed and implemented by a collaborative multi-service provider group consisting of SOS, Thrive, The Arc of the Midlands, and UCP.  Project staff will complete customized special needs life quality coaching certification training via TERi, Inc. Classes are held weekly in various locations.  Please contact Irene Stevens via email at Irene@arcmidlands.org or via phone at 843-693-9027 for additional information or questions about this program.

Let’s Talk

Let’s Talk is a 20-week program advocacy skills program offered in face to face 45 to 90 minute sessions once a week.  Workshop and day program settings are targeted implementation sites. Because day programs and workshops have large numbers of adults with I/DD with varying levels of ability, each class is offered up to three times each day – modifying as necessary to ensure participants are engaged and able to follow along.  The program is also offered in community settings for those individuals living independently or at home.  Please contact Rita Ervin via email at Rita@arcmidlands.org or via phone at 484-951-7482 for additional information or questions about this program.
