A resident of Leesville, SC, Cody has always had strong ties to the community and a passion for helping others. After experiencing his first Epileptic episode at age 7, Cody and his family were informed by doctors that he may never live a normal life, however Cody took the opinion of his doctor’s as a personal challenge. One of Cody’s main inspirations to create Bee-fluent Honey were all the individuals who have helped him along his journey: “I had lots of trouble in school. I’m a slow learner and my stubborn streak didn’t help me. Thankfully, there were people who noticed that I needed help, even if I didn’t.” Cody was also inspired by, not only honey bees, but the hard-work and multitude of jobs performed by insects in our world; believing that sometimes the smallest creatures can have the biggest impact. “Luckily, like bees, I’m a hard-worker and there were people who believed in what I could accomplish that kept pushing me. One thing I’ve learned from all this is that even the smallest animals can accomplish the biggest tasks when they work together.” Cody hopes to use bee-fluent honey to make an impact of his own, not only in the community at large, but in the lives and hearts of the individuals who need it most.
